Our Jungle Bay infinity swimming pools allows for swimming and relaxation. We offer several tours with opportunities to swim in the Caribbean Sea and visit beaches such as in Scott’s Head (8 min. drive) and Champagne Beach (15 min. drive) or local waterfalls. Most beaches in Dominica are stone or natural black sand beaches however you are not likely going to plan lay on the beach days given that most people come to the island for an active vacation

Dress at Jungle Bay's Restaurant is island casual with everyone generally keeping to comfortable clothing. Ladies will not want to wear high heels as the trails are a bit uneven

Laundry service (wash and fold) is available at the rate of USD $25.00 + 15%VAT per load. You place your dirty clothes in a bag (available from the Front Desk) & fill out a short request form. Your clothes will then be returned within 24 hours

Jungle Bay offers guests enhanced Wi-Fi as fast as 60 Mbps which is more than sufficient to conduct video conferencing, streaming hi-res videos, and downloading large files

This enhanced internet is complimentary to guests

We are on the southwest coast of Dominica with a slight breeze, which fortunately keeps our property cool and greatly reduces the bugs and mosquitoes. However, your villa features mosquito nets above each bed as an option. If needed, come to the Jungle Bay gift shop, which carries a locally made, natural bay leaf mosquito repellent

We recommend packing the following items in your carry-on luggage in the event your luggage is delayed: comfortable walking shoes and a change of clothing, swimsuit, any personal medications, contact lenses/solution (3 oz. max.), as well as toiletry. Remember the 3 oz. rule for carrying liquids and gels on commercial airplanes. Beach towels are provided by Jungle Bay as well as snorkeling equipment for our snorkeling & kayak tours

Upon availability, we will do our best to have the villa ready upon your arrival time, so please let us know your arrival details. Typically, the villas are ready after 3.00 pm and check out is usually by 11.00 am. We will also be happy to store your luggage before check-in after check-out and you can use the facilities

We do have villas that are close to each other as well as interconnecting villa rooms, so please let us know at the time of booking what other bookings are part of your group, so that we can situate you close to one another

Jungle Bay Cancellation Policy & Terms of Use

By making a reservation you agree to the terms of use and authorize Jungle Bay Dominica (AyAy Holdings Caribbean Ltd) to charge your credit card in order to secure your reservation

Payments

For bookings of 3 nights or more, a deposit equal to 35% is required to guarantee your stay. The full balance is due during your stay

For bookings of up to 2 nights, full pre-payment is required to guarantee your stay

Payment is accepted via Visa and Mastercard

Cancellations

For cancellations made 14* days or more prior to the stay, the deposit may be applied towards a future stay within a 12-month period. If a refund is requested then it will be subject to a 10% credit card processing fee to cover hard costs incurred by the hotel

If a booking is cancelled less than 14 * days prior to arrival, the deposit will be forfeited

* Special conditions apply for peak seasons

If a booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival for stays from December 19 to January 4, Easter, or during the Creole Festival end of October/beginning of November, the total amount of the stay booked will be due

In the event of a no-show or booking reduction (on or after arrival date), the total amount of the stay booked will be charged

NOTE: Group reservation terms and conditions vary. Payments for groups will be via electronic bank transfer

Our full-service restaurant and bar are located a short walk from the villas. We offer a range of vegan, vegetarian, fresh fish and seafood as well as chicken dishes along with organic local produce to create delicious Caribbean fare

Our restaurant/bar operating hours are: Breakfast: 7:00am-10:00am ~ Lunch: 12:00pm-2:30pm ~ Dinner: 6:00pm-9:00pm Certain snacks and drinks are available throughout the day from 7:00am until 9:00pm

Our Upper Restaraunt is open on occasion

Other eateries are located between 10 minutes away in the villge of Scotts Head or 20 minutes away in the captial of Roseau. There are a few small food kiosks in the nearby villages also but hours and availability of food may not be consistent

Credit Cards may be accepted in major town centers, such as Portsmouth and Roseau, however, we recommend carrying Eastern Caribbean dollars or US dollars in small bills while traveling around the island. Most of our hikes are suitable for persons who are regular hikers and can cross rivers, maneuver hilly paths and sometimes slippery terrain. However, there are also walks and activities for people who wish to take part in easier tours and visits. Please ask your guide or guest service staff for guidance. We recommend wearing light, breathable shoes for our tropical climate such as trekking, running shoes, comfortable “amphibian” water shoes or hiking sandals with straps (e.g. Keen, Teva). Your shoes may get wet on some of the hikes; we therefore suggest bringing at least 2 pairs of shoes you are comfortable hiking in. Also note that shoes need to have good grip as paths and rocks can be slippery

Although some trails such as the short walks near Jungle Bay are self-guided, we do highly recommend touring with a guide for other trails. The guides are local and very familiar with the terrain, the flora and fauna and possible danger points. Many of the trails in Dominica are not well marked nor well-trodden. Our guides are certified and highly knowledgeable and can enhance your hiking experience. If you do decide to head out on your own, we would be happy to give you advice on whether or not a guide is required for a specific trail

Yes. Our yoga classes are beginner’s level yet our instructor will share modifications for intermediate students. Note that classes are 60 minutes and are scheduled 5 to 7 days a week (either in the mornings or evenings). Yoga styles are Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Yin

Yes. Jungle Bay is only a 5-minute-drive from the Nature Island dive shop and almost 20 dive sites are less than 15 boat minutes from there. In cooperation with Nature Island, we offer special dive packages for certified divers (remember to bring your dive certification card), as well as First-Time Scuba Dive Experiences. Most flights are via Douglas Charles Airport (DOM), located on the northeast of the island, which is approximately 1 hour and 20 min. drive from Jungle Bay

Visitors to Dominica normally do NOT require a visa for stays less than 21 days (in some cases longer stays are also permitted). The non-visa requirement applies for example for Nationals from Canada, USA, UK, the European Union, Switzerland, etc. A valid, up-to-date passport is required and must be presented to immigration and customs officials, along with your valid return ticket

You can rent a vehicle, however, keep in mind that we drive on the left side and our roads are narrow and winding. Also, note that signage is limited in places, so it may take a bit of adjustment for you to get used to driving on our roads. You will need to arrange for a temporary driver’s license with the rental car company

Dominica is a year-round travel destination and visitors should expect plenty of sunshine interjected by intermittent rainfall at any time of the year (do pack a light raincoat for the hikes). The drier season can be considered from December to the end of May and there is normally an increase in rainfall during the months of August to October, however temperatures remain fairly steady. The island's annual temperature averages at around 27-30° Celsius / 80-86° Fahrenheit. It is also good to know that the rainfall often happens during the night or early in the morning. Most of the time, the rainfalls are quite heavy, but also short and it clears up quickly
